Several events in the 30th Southeast Asian Games were postponed as the entry of Typhoon Tisoy forced organizers to make necessary adjustments on Tuesday.
The women's benchrest shooting events were postponed owing to state weather agency PAGASA's signal no. 2 declaration in the metropolis in its bulletin earlier this morning.
The tennis events, meanwhile, were rescheduled to a later time.
Surfing at the Monalisa Point in La Union (signal no. 1) and sepak takraw at the Subic Bay Gymnasium in Zambales (signal no. 3) were also postponed, while skateboarding at the Tagaytay Skate Park in Cavite (signal no. 3) will be moved to a later date. Events in polo, petanque, and sailing were postponed as well.
In PAGASA's 8 a.m bulletin, the eye of the typhoon was located at the coastal waters of Quezon. The typhoon, moving west at a rate of 20 kilometers per hour, is also reportedly moving with maximum sustained winds of 155 kph near the center and has gusts of up to 235 kph.
