Yuka Saso of the Philippines ended her initially promising run in the LPGA Lotte Championship tied for sixth place on Sunday at the Kapolei Golf Club in Hawaii.
Saso concluded her campaign at -19 after firing a 70 in the fourth round. The 19-year-old shared the sixth spot with three other competitors and brought home $54,848 (around PHP2.6 million).
New Zealand's Lydia Ko claimed top honors with a commanding -28 after a second straight 7-under 65. She was followed by four golfers tied at second at -21. Ko took home the top prize of $300,000.
In the fourth round, Saso was able to rack up three birdies in the front nine against a single bogey, but stumbled with a costly double bogey in the 13th hole.
The young Filipina, who was playing in the prestigious tournament on a sponsor's exemption, set the scoring record in the Lotte Championship after the first two rounds after consecutive 64s, but was unable to maintain momentum for the rest of the event.
